Week 11 – Just around the corner…..

By about mid October, the various maze fields open up to the public in this community.  The mazes are the result of corn being planted in certain patterns.  At harvest, a view from an airplane reveals the theme.  One year, one of the mazes was the shape of a bronco rider in a rodeo.  No, I did not see it from the air, I saw the aerial photograph in the newspaper.  Still, very impressive.

I tend to be claustrophobic.  A maze doesn’t affect me that way because I can always look up.  An enclosed maze would be a challenge.  I am a person who needs to know there is a way out.  Mazes really are cool, even more cool are the designers who plan them and those who care for them.  There is a way out, just keep turning the corner.  This is what comes to mind when I read Scroll 3.

“Failure I may still encounter at the thousandth step, yet success hides behind the next bend in the road.  Never will I know how close it lies unless I turn the corner.”  Og Mandino, The Greatest Salesman in the World, Scroll 3.

My success, my future self, my DMP is just around the corner.  I can feel it, I can visualize it clearly with all 5 senses, but I cannot actually see it, I have to forge on, take every corner, follow every bend in the road.  What I do not know, is how close it is.  What I do know – IT IS!!!

What if it takes me a while?  What if I become tired?  One thing is certain –

I do not stop when I am tired,

I stop when I am done, when I have arrived at the finish, my future self, my success.

Success is like a maze.  With persistence the end of the maze, the clearing, can be found.  Trust the process.  It is just around the next corner….

I always keep my promises!

Great post Louise! Love the linking! Those mazes that are made from plants like that, are really cool! I’m just like you … I don’t like enclosed places either. But those mazes are fun. Wishing you much success and happiness!!!

Thank you, Mare! So glad to meet someone else who enjoys garden mazes! Be blessed!

Charming metaphor for the process itself, that we follow to reach our goal. So not only as the process enables us to be successful, but also as it is nice and intriguing as such. Good reminder for me….!

Thank you, Mailys, trust the process….it is an intriguing adventure!
